Our Story
In 1956, at a mere age of 25, Tony Formento embarked on a journey from Italy to South Africa, and soon discovered his unwavering passion for woodworking. Fuelled by a strong sense of patriotism, he, along with two dedicated partners at the time, established Italian Cabinet Makers in 1974. Over the years, the business evolved, with Tony's son, Martino, joining the ranks straight out of high school. Martino immersed himself in the art of the trade, eventually assuming the mantle of leadership.
Fast forward to today, and the story continues with a new chapter. Martino's son, Roberto, a qualified industrial engineer, made a life-changing decision to step away from the corporate world and follow in his family's footsteps. Italian Cabinet Makers is now proudly in its third generation, with Martino and Roberto serving as joint Managing Directors, carrying forward a legacy of craftsmanship and dedication.
